I’ve always been a creative human, ever since I was young, but my real artistic journey started in college when I was in an “art class for teachers” class. It had nothing to do with my major, but I needed to fill my credits, and it was all that was left to sign up for. I remember having a collage assignment one day, and my teacher brought out tons of magazines, books, trinkets and goodies. I stayed 3 hours after class working on my collage. It was the most free I had felt in a long time, I didn’t have to follow any rules, or use any technique, I just got to clear my mind and glue shit down. This started my mixed media journey.

  I went to my first music festival that year (2017), electric forest, dropped out of college, and started becoming this current version of me. I kept creating, but my small town wasn’t the place for my funky, trippy, colorful weird art. I spent the next couple years working, creating, and immersing myself in music, art, and festivals, and eventually found myself at Sonic Bloom festival in Rye, Colorado in 2019. Here I met tons of artists I had looked up to for years. I thought they were all such a huge deal. I thought they were famous, but I learned they were just a bunch of regular hippies like me who just so happened to live in a place that made it easy for them to pursue their dreams.

  I moved to Denver about 6 months later. My partner at the time told me “When you meet someone new, introduce yourself as an artist. Don’t tell them you work in a restaurant. The more you say it the more real it becomes.” And so I did. I started vending my art at venues and shows in town, attending first Friday’s, applying to small music festivals in the area, and eventually got to travel for some too. I bounced around with making mixed media collages, painting, beading, making body chains, digital art, etc, until I landed on polymer clay. I realized anyone could go buy the supplies I was using and replicate what I was making, so I started making my own pendants that came from my own heart and soul. It’s been about 5 years now that I’ve been perfecting my craft. I’m ready for a new endeavor, but polymer clay will always be my love. I still make mixed media collages too.
